Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Devopsly. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Devopsly is operated by Muhammad Hamza, operating as Devopsly, Lahore, Pakistan ("Devopsly", "we", "us").

1. What Devopsly does

Devopsly connects to your cloud provider account with read-only access, retrieves configuration and billing metadata, and provides cost analysis, optimisation recommendations, security and backup findings, health scores, alerts, and AI-generated summaries.

Devopsly is an advisory and monitoring tool. It does not manage, operate, or change your infrastructure.

2. Beta service

Devopsly is currently offered as a free beta.

  • The service is provided "as is" and "as available", with no service level agreement and no guarantee of uptime, availability, or data preservation.
  • Features may be added, changed, or removed during the beta.
  • We may modify these terms or discontinue the service with 30 days' notice to the email address on your account.
  • No charges apply during the beta.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, and if you're using Devopsly on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

Notify us at support@devopsly.app immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

3.1 Workspaces and team members

A workspace has one owner. The owner and any admin may invite others as admin, member, or
viewer. Each role grants a different level of access, described in the product.

If you own a workspace:

  • You are responsible for who you invite and for what they do in your workspace.
  • Only invite people entitled to see your infrastructure and cost data. Everyone in a workspace can see its synced infrastructure, spending, and recommendations.
  • Removing someone revokes their access immediately, but does not undo actions they already took.
  • Billing is the owner's responsibility. Ownership can be transferred to another member, and the new owner assumes it from that point.

Invitations are addressed to a specific email address and can only be accepted by someone signed in
with that address. Pending invitations expire after 7 days.

4. Authority to connect cloud accounts

By connecting a cloud provider account, you represent and warrant that you are authorised to do so and to grant Devopsly access to that account's data. If you are acting for an organisation, you confirm you have that organisation's authority.

You are solely responsible for the credentials you provide, and for revoking them if your authorisation ends.

5. Scope of access

Devopsly requests read-only access to your cloud infrastructure.

  • We do not create, modify, delete, restart, or reconfigure your resources.
  • We do not access the contents of your databases, storage buckets, or application data — only metadata such as configuration, resource inventory, and billing information.
  • Any action recommended by Devopsly must be carried out by you, in your own environment. We never act on your infrastructure on your behalf.

6. Credential security

Cloud credentials you provide are encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC and are never exposed in API responses or the user interface.

You remain responsible for:

  • scoping the permissions you grant — we strongly recommend read-only credentials with the minimum permissions required
  • rotating credentials in line with your own security policy
  • revoking credentials if you stop using Devopsly

7. No guarantee of savings or accuracy

This section is important. Please read it.

Devopsly's cost analysis, recommendations, security findings, backup assessments, health scores, and alerts are advisory only. They are generated automatically from data provided by your cloud provider and may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect.

  • Devopsly does not guarantee any cost saving. Figures described as potential savings are estimates based on available metadata.
  • The absence of a finding is not a representation that your infrastructure is secure, compliant, correctly configured, or adequately backed up.
  • You are responsible for independently verifying any finding before acting on it, and you remain solely responsible for your own infrastructure, security, backup, and disaster-recovery practices.
  • Devopsly is not a substitute for professional security, financial, or engineering advice.

8. AI-generated content

Certain features, including weekly infrastructure summaries, are generated using artificial intelligence.

AI-generated output may contain errors, omissions, or mischaracterisations, and is provided for convenience only. It does not constitute professional advice and should be verified against the underlying data available in the service before being relied upon.

To provide these features, infrastructure metadata (such as resource names, cost figures, and recommendations) is transmitted to our AI sub-processor. Cloud credentials are never transmitted. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • access or attempt to access infrastructure you are not authorised to access
  • attempt to circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or access controls
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the service
  • resell or redistribute access to the service without our written permission
  • use the service to store or transmit malicious code, or to interfere with its operation
  • use the service in violation of applicable law or of your cloud provider's terms of service

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.

10. Fees and payment

Devopsly is free during the beta period. No charges apply and no payment details are collected.

When paid plans are introduced:

  • pricing and plan limits will be published before they take effect
  • subscriptions may be cancelled at any time and remain active until the end of the current billing period
  • payments will be processed by Paddle, acting as Merchant of Record. Paddle's own terms additionally apply to the purchase transaction
  • fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise; Paddle handles applicable VAT and sales tax

Third-party costs on your own account. To read your spending data, Devopsly calls the AWS Cost Explorer API using the credentials you provide. AWS charges for these requests ($0.01 per request at the time of writing) directly to your own AWS account — in the region of $2–2.50 per month per connected cloud account at our current sync cadence (each cost sync makes seven Cost Explorer requests — six monthly periods plus one daily — and runs at most once every 20 hours; a manual "Sync now" adds one more set). These charges are levied by AWS, not by us, and are separate from any Devopsly fee. We deliberately sync cost data at most once per 20 hours rather than on every resource sync, because AWS only refreshes it about that often anyway.

11. Refunds

Beta access is free, so no refunds arise.

For future paid plans, refunds are available within 14 days of a charge. Contact support@devopsly.app. Refunds are processed by Paddle.

12. Intellectual property

Our property: Devopsly, including its software, interface, documentation, and branding, remains our exclusive property. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service — nothing more.

Your property: You retain all rights to your infrastructure data and account content. You grant us only the limited licence necessary to operate the service for you — retrieving, storing, processing, and analysing that data to provide the features described above.

Feedback: If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without obligation or compensation to you.

13. Confidentiality

We treat your infrastructure data and credentials as confidential and will not disclose them except as described in our Privacy Policy, or where legally required.

14. Termination and data deletion

By you: You may stop using Devopsly at any time, and you may ask us to delete your account by emailing privacy@devopsly.app. (During beta, deletion is handled manually on request — there is no self-service delete button yet.)

  • Disconnecting a cloud account deletes its stored credentials immediately.
  • Deleting your account removes your data within 30 days, except records we must retain for legal compliance.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service (with 30 days' notice under Section 2).

15. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Devopsly and Muhammad Hamza shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business, arising from or relating to your use of or inability to use the service — including any action taken or not taken in reliance on a recommendation, finding, alert, or summary produced by the service.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim — which, during the free beta, is zero.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and costs arising from your breach of these terms, your use of the service in violation of law, or your connection of a cloud account you were not authorised to connect.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be notified to the email address on your account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date constitutes acceptance. If you don't accept, stop using the service and delete your account.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lahore, Pakistan.

20. General

  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Entire agreement: These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service.
